These are the Dragon and Tiger pagodas. You enter through the dragon and come out of the lion, it's supposed to get rid of your bad luck and increase your good luck!!
I went with my friends Izzy, Tiara, and Josephine! The architecture was very interesting and the colors were vibrant! Climbing up the pagoda was so tiring though, the stairs were steeper than what I'm used to.
Complete side note: There was a dead frog floating in the Dragon and Tiger Pagoda River!
We also went to the temple right across from the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas as well.
Sometimes the temples will have rows of religious books and pamphlets, but we weren't sure if we could take those! We still aren't sure, and google doesn't really know either. The praying method is different from Japan, and the incense smelled different. People were also burning gold/yellow paper to give to the gods, which was pretty new to see.
Taiwan also has these interesting automated fortune telling vending machines and I AM LIVING FOR IT (though my fortune was bad). Here's a video of Tiara getting her fortune!
Note for future fortune vending machine users: You need to think of a specific span of time the fortune will last for!
